By harnessing the large pool of capital in the global carbon trading markets, to finance the purchase of products and services in developing countries that reduce carbon emissions and help mitigate global climate change, multiple other benefits are achievable and experienced by the poorest communities.
Benefits for the poor are maximized by removing the middleman from the equation and directing financial returns to the communities that are directly taking actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thus creating a new strain of carbon credit, furthermore termed a carbon micro credit
