Our Carbon Offset Projects
Carbon Manna Africa supports different types of carbon offsetting projects. Among the
various projects are through the emphasis on the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency
and reforestation. Each type plays an important role in the fight against climate change. 
The projects are..

 Efficient Cooking Stove:
Carbon Manna Africa uses a cell-phone-based Carbon Micro Credit system i.e. SMS
(simple message service) and unique identifiers to allow millions of families in the
Developing World to claim on a bi-weekly or monthly basis the carbon offsets they
produce by using more efficient cooking methods such as a modern charcoal stove
or solar cooker, instead of an inefficient open-pit fire burning biomass. As a result,
each family is able to monetize directly its own contribution to mitigating global warming.

Tree Planting

Trees absorbs existing CO2 emissions, which helps to reduce the excess greenhouse 
gases that humans have added to the atmosphere through Forest Cover

Reforestation and forest preservation carbon offset projects are part of the global
warming solution. Forest-based carbons offset projects fight climate change by
sequestering carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere in trees and soil and have
many co-benefits for the community and local wildlife.

Forest preservation creates jobs, maintains and expands wildlife habitats, protects
biodiversity, and improves local environmental quality.

Forest cover

Much of the world’s tropical rainforests have either been cut down or are directly
threatened with imminent deforestation. Deforestation and forest degradation have
resulted in species loss and direct contribution to global warming. Moreover,
deforestation accounts for over 20 percent of global carbon dioxide
emissions – more than the entire global transportation sector!

Project Implementation....

Each household's code from the cooking stove will be used.
The amount of carbon offset per tree/Ha will be determined.
Each household will be rewarded via mobile money transfer system according to the number of trees planted/Ha.

This code is in our database.
The same code is used to identify tree planting households
